KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Chiefs were awarded marketing and commercialization rights for three more countries in Europe as part of the National Football League\u2019s (NFL) Global Markets Program.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the NFL announced the Chiefs\u2019 footprint will include the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain and add to existing markets in Mexico, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The team now has seven international markets, one of the highest in the NFL.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are incredibly excited to bring Chiefs football to fans in the UK, Ireland and Spain,\u201d said Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt. \u201cAs the game grows globally, more and more fans from around the world are becoming a part of Chiefs Kingdom. Kansas City has certainly made a name for itself in the global sports landscape, and we are proud to showcase our town and our team on the international stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

The club can begin including elements of its marketing and commercial plans in the three new markets starting on April 1. This includes the following:<\/p>\n

  • Host events in these countries to engage fans locally<\/li>\n
  • Unveil market and language-specific digital properties<\/li>\n
  • Launch advertising campaigns<\/li>\n
  • Sign local sponsorship deals<\/li>\n
  • Extend domestic sponsors internationally<\/li>\n
  • Align with local agencies with on-the-ground knowledge and expertise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u201cWe are deeply committed to creating meaningful opportunities for and connections with our growing global fanbase,\u201d said Lara Krug, Chiefs executive vice president of marketing. \u201cThe passion we see from our international fans inspires us and drives us to build Chiefs Kingdom into a truly global community. We are particularly pleased to now have six European countries, allowing us to service many more fans on the continent and bring the energy of the NFL and Chiefs traditions there.\u201d<\/p>\n

    The club will invest in fans in these new markets through on-site activations, fan events and local NFL FLAG Football initiatives. Additionally, it will focus on increasing community engagement through social programs, expand long and short-form media content series and explore opportunities to play regular season games in these markets as part of the NFL\u2019s rotation of International Series games.<\/p>\n

    In the past, the Chiefs have played in Germany (2023), Mexico (2019) and the United Kingdom (2015). In regular-season international matches, the Chiefs remain undefeated. The Chiefs are the first NFL club to win regular-season games in four different countries.<\/p>\n
