One of just two active players on this list, Mahomes is more than deserving of his top-10 position. The 29-year-old is already a two-time league and three-time Super Bowl MVP. He has an astonishing 106-27 record as the Chiefs\u2019 starting quarterback that includes a 17-4 postseason mark. Mahomes\u2019 five Super Bowl starts is tied with John Elway for the second-most in history.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Grade: C<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to be critical of a team that consistently goes to Super Bowls, but the Kansas City Chiefs haven\u2019t improved this offseason, at least so far.<\/p>\n

In fact, the Chiefs lost multiple key starters in free agency, starting with a trade that sent veteran guard Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears. Other departures included Justin Reid, Tershawn Wharton, Derrick Nnadi, DeAndre Hopkins, and Justin Watson, with few incoming moves to replace all of that talent.<\/p>\n

One of the Chiefs\u2019 biggest concerns going forward is their lack of offensive line depth, and losing a key starter like Thuney doesn\u2019t improve that situation. Patrick Mahomes will always give the Chiefs a chance, but they really need a strong 2025 draft class to stay the favorites in the AFC going forward.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

31. <\/strong>KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: EDGE <\/strong>JAMES PEARCE JR., <\/strong>TENNESSEE<\/p>\n

Key Stat: <\/strong>Pearce recorded pressure on 22.4% of his pass-rush snaps over the past two seasons, the fourth-best rate in the FBS.<\/p>\n

Bottom Line: <\/strong>Pearce is the kind of athlete with the production and disruption scores you don\u2019t let out of the first round. His twitchy movements show difference-making NFL traits that can be situational at worst and All-Pro at best.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Multiple teams passed on the traditional post-championship celebration at the White House during Trump\u2019s first term. Trump canceled a 2018 visit with the Eagles following their Super Bowl LII victory, saying in a statement at the time that some team members disagreed with his view that they \u201cproudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart.\u201d The team did not confirm that as a reason for the cancellation, following reports that the Eagles planned to send only a small contingent for the visit. The Golden State Warriors decided not to visit the White House after winning the NBA championship in 2017, with Trump subsequently announcing the withdrawal of the invitation via a post on Twitter.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Rams WR Puka Nacua, 23, says he wants to retire at 30 | ESPN<\/p>\n

\u201cI know I want to retire at the age of 30,\u201d Nacua said. \u201cI\u2019m 23 right now, I\u2019m going into Year 3 \u2014 it wouldn\u2019t even be 10 years. It\u2019d be maybe seven or eight. I think of Aaron Donald, to go out at the top, I think it would be super cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donald, the former Rams defensive tackle, retired in March 2024 after 10 seasons and is a future Hall of Famer. A three-time Defensive Player of the Year and a Super Bowl champion, Donald said at the time of his retirement that his NFL career felt \u201ccomplete.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nacua \u2014 who has five siblings \u2014 also noted that he hopes to have \u201ca big family,\u201d saying, \u201cI want to be able to be a part of their lives and be as active as I can with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Pennel, 33, entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of CSU Pueblo following the conclusion of the 2014 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 330-pound defensive tackle was a key addition for the Chiefs midway through the 2019 season as the team defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.<\/p>\n

Pennel left the club in 2021 to join the Chicago Bears, and he bounced from the Bears to the Atlanta Falcons and back to the Bears before landing with the Chiefs for his second stint in October of 2023. In Kansas City\u2019s four playoff games, Pennel recorded 12 tackles, including six in the team\u2019s Super Bowl LVIII win over the 49ers.<\/p>\n

The run-stuffer appeared in all 17 games for the Chiefs in 2024, playing 30% of the snaps. Pennel rounds out a Kansas City defensive line room that recently added defensive tackle Jerry Tillery and brought back defensive lineman Charles Omenihu.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
