One paper, they\u2019re the team to beat as the +240 favorites to win the World Series on FanDuel.<\/p>\n<p id=\"D7IH5TKPTVFDNMPMOP35PEDLYE\">ESPN asked six of its experts to pick a team that could potentially prevent Los Angeles from winning its second straight World Series championship, and Buster Olney went with the Boston Red Sox.<\/p>\n<p id=\"DAH5QWKLHREI3ACA2ATTQB6CVU\">\u201cIn the end, however, an AL team will have a seven-game series to take down the Dodgers, and we submit that the revamped Boston Red Sox are uniquely qualified to get this done,\u201d Olney wrote. \u201cThe Yankees&#8217; injuries have pulled them back to the pack of teams in their league, and it\u2019s the Red Sox who will take down the AL East and then the AL pennant.<\/p>\n<p id=\"A7HTZCPGLNE6PHLIP7QI4IPYA4\">\u201cThe Red Sox have an outstanding lineup, headed by Jarren Duran, Rafael Devers and Alex Bregman,\u201d he continued, \u201cand Devers and Bregman have the kind of postseason experience to lead this group through the biggest games of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"7RTHPTRX5VD5TFCABA27TJJ5DE\">Should the Red Sox make it to the Fall Classic, Olney pointed to the Red Sox being able to use new ace Garrett Crochet in Game 1 and giving the ball to former Dodger Walker Buehler in Game 2. But despite the lineup and having a strong rotation, Olney noted the bullpen is Boston\u2019s biggest weakness, but added it should be able to address it before October.<\/p>\n<p id=\"A4AH2IIGVZHMFCVG5SYVCMXETE\">While the Red Sox made upgrades to their roster, including signing Bregman and trading for Crochet, Jeff Passan countered his co-worker\u2019s argument.<\/p>\n<p id=\"4G2LZJ22AJCGBMXXTZH6OEU76A\">\u201cThe Dodgers are better at two-thirds of the everyday positions. Their rotation is superior. And the difference in bullpens is immense,\u201d Passan wrote. \u201cBecause the AL playoff picture is so wide open, the path to the World Series is not nearly as treacherous for the Red Sox. Should they arrive, though, the difference between the teams \u2014 at least as they\u2019re currently constituted \u2014 is more canyon than gap.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"HSSOHGHFNFE2JKX6XHSSDBHHEQ\">Of course, it\u2019s only March and a lot can happen between now and the postseason. Both teams need to get to the World Series to have a rematch of 2018.<\/p>\n<p id=\"L7IYHRV7PVGLHHQHMDJBRDPSRQ\">Anything can happen once the playoffs begin \u2014 the Red Sox know as much from the 2004 season.
