Former Alabama dancer Reece Weaver now cheers for the Dallas Cowboys.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Netflix original series \u201cAmerica\u2019s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders \u201d sparked a nationwide obsession with the cheerleading squad. The show follows Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders throughout the 2023-24 season as they cheer on the Cowboys in AT&T Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have always dreamt of being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, but when I walked into AT&T Stadium that one time for a college game, everything was so solidified,\u201d former Alabama dance team member Reece Weaver said, talking about the Crimson Tide\u2019s appearance in the 2021 Rose Bowl held at the stadium.<\/p>\n

Weaver started on the dance team in April 2019, prior to her freshman year, and continued to dance until she graduated from the University in 2023 with a degree in dance.<\/p>\n

The show followed Weaver\u2019s tryout process and her first year with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.<\/p>\n

Her relationship with her husband Will Allman, who graduated from Alabama in 2022 with a degree in marketing and finance, also played a major role in the show.<\/p>\n

The pair has passionately supported the Crimson Tide since attending Alabama, as athletics brought them together. In fact, they first met while attending an Alabama men\u2019s basketball game. Alabama athletics continued to play a vital role in their lives, even in the transfer from Tuscaloosa to Dallas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first time Reece ever told me she was going to be trying out for the Cowboys was when we went to AT&T Stadium for the Rose Bowl,\u201d Allman said.<\/p>\n

While the two are passionate about the Cowboys, they noted some key differences between professional and collegiate athletics.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been all over and there is nothing like SEC football. Just the pride the people have for their schools, I feel like it\u2019s more,\u201d Allman said, and Weaver added, \u201cCollege is different because there is a sense of home.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two organizations have deep histories that give them some strong similarities.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlabama\u2019s heartbeat is very similar to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders in a sense of serving the community and being ambassadors,\u201d Weaver said. She credited Alabama with preparing for her professional career.<\/p>\n

While young women across America dream of performing as Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Weaver said that \u201cthere is nothing like representing the Script A.\u201d<\/p>\n

She has been able to continue her dance journey with the Cowboys, but the Crimson Tide has clearly left a impression on her heart.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so honored to represent the Cowboys as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, that is truly one of the greatest honors,\u201d she said. \u201cBut I think that one of the things that separates that is I got to represent the Crimson Tide \u2026 and that was way more than one sport, that was a legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
