On Friday, The 33rd Team\u2019s<\/em> James Foster published a mock draft that sends a familiar face to the Kansas City Chiefs with the 31st pick of the first round.<\/p>\n

31. Kansas City Chiefs: T Josh Conerly Jr., Oregon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kansas City selects Josh Conerly Jr., which has become the \u201cFree Space\u201d of NFL mock drafts. Conerly Jr. is a left tackle with light feet to take mirror pass rushers on an island. While he was undersized early in his career, he bulked up to 313 pounds in 2024 and meets every threshold in terms of size, length, and athleticism.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

With his selection of Conerly, Foster stays in familiar territory. The Oregon tackle is currently the player most frequently mocked to the Chiefs at 31. And if the team believes he is the best player available when they go on the clock, he might very well be the pick.<\/p>\n

But now that the Chiefs have signed former San Francisco 49ers tackle Jaylon Moore in free agency, they might not want to go that way in the first round \u2014 particularly since this draft is widely believed to have lots of talent on the defensive line, where Kansas City still needs plenty of help.<\/p>\n

So we expect that in the weeks to come, we\u2019ll see more mock drafts that send defensive linemen to Kansas City \u2014 unless general manager Brett Veach has some other tricks up his sleeve as free agency continues.<\/p>\n
