Former New York Jets DT Solomon Thomas agreed to a two-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys, according to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter.<\/p>\n
Thomas is now going to play in his home town.<\/p>\n

\u201cFormer Jets DT Solomon Thomas reached agreement today on a two-year deal with a max value of $8 million with the Dallas Cowboys, per source,\u201d Schefter wrote on Twitter. \u201cDallas is home for Thomas, and now he gets to go back.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
In 16 games last season, Thomas finished with 26 total tackles, five tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.<\/p>\n
A former No. 3 overall pick by the San Francisco 49ers out of\u00a0Stanford\u00a0in 2017, Thomas played for San Francisco, the Las Vegas Raiders and spent the last three years with the Jets.<\/p>\n
He has 18.5 career sacks. Thomas also logged 212 total tackles in his career and made the postseason with the 49ers in 2019 and Raiders in \u201921.<\/p>\n
Solomon Thomas latest addition for Cowboys<\/h2>\n
In addition to the Thomas move, the Cowboys lost DE Chauncey Golston Monday. He signed with the New York Giants.<\/p>\n
Golston played the first four years of his pro career in Dallas after being taken in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of\u00a0Iowa. He finished this past season with 56 tackles, 5.5 sacks, one interception and five passes defended, all of which are career highs.<\/p>\n
That performance enabled Golston to find a new NFL home and receive a solid pay day in the process. The Giants are coming off of a 3-14 finish this past season and could use all the help they can get, so he should have ample opportunity in front of him.<\/p>\n
In college, played four years for the Hawkeyes from 2017-20. He ended his career with 129 tackles, 12 sacks, three interceptions, seven passes defended, three fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly finalizing a deal to snag a key piece away from the Philadelphia Eagles. Running back\u00a0Kenneth Gainwell\u00a0is the target.<\/p>\n
According to\u00a0a report from FOX Sports\u2019\u00a0Jordan Schultz, the Steelers are finalizing a one-year deal with the former Eagles standout. Gainwell is coming off a season in which he logged 75 touches out of the backfield.<\/p>\n
He\u2019ll be a nice rotational piece for Pittsburgh. He also has some pass-catching ability.<\/p>\n
During his first four years in the league, all with Philadelphia, Kenneth Gainwell has logged 280 carries for 1,185 yards and 12 touchdowns, while also catching 102 passes for 721 yards and a score.<\/p>\n
He was a former fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Philadelphia took him with the No. 150 overall selection, drafting him out of\u00a0Memphis.<\/p>\n
Kenneth Gainwell isn\u2019t the only free agency acquisition for the Eagles, though. The Super Bowl champs have snagged one or two other key additions so far.<\/p>\n
Pittsburgh snags another Philadelphia standout<\/h2>\n
In addition to Kenneth Gainwell, another former Philadelphia Eagles standout, cornerback\u00a0Darius Slay, is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. That news comes\u00a0courtesy of FOX Sports\u2019\u00a0Jordan Schultz.<\/p>\n
Slay wasn\u2019t on the free agency market long, finding his next stop nearby geographically. He will give the Steelers a veteran presence in the secondary.<\/p>\n
Though he had hoped to return to the Eagles, Darius Slay was released by Philadelphia a week ago. If the Eagles had designated him as a post-June 1 release, they could have saved $4.3 million against the cap.<\/p>\n
The Eagles traded for Slay in March 2020 for a third- and fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, sending the picks to the Detroit Lions. He signed a new three-year deal upon arriving in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
Slay was a Pro Bowler with the Eagles in 2021, \u201922 and \u201923 to highlight a successful tenure with the franchise.
