Derek Ferguson believes 49ers Enterprises will pull the trigger on a \u00a36million permanent signing once their Ibrox takeover is finalised.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The franchise arm of NFL team San Francisco 49ers, led by Paraag Marathe, have reached a deal in principle to purchase at least 51 per cent of Rangers.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

49ers plan to have control of the Gers in time for the start of next season, which supporters will hope means new signings coming in before a ball is kicked in 2025-26.<\/p>\n

Rangers tipped to sign Vaclav Cerny on permanent deal<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

In the view of player-turned-pundit Ferguson, speaking exclusively to Ibrox News<\/strong>, the 49ers may well be tempted to make Cerny\u2019s loan deal permanent come the summer.<\/p>\n

Wolfsburg are said to be after \u00a36million for Cerny, who has scored 15 goals and assisted four more in 34 Scottish Premiership and Europa League outings this campaign.<\/p>\n

Ferguson said: \u201cCerny\u2019s stats are really good and he\u2019s certainly been one of the better players this season. It\u2019s something the club will need to evaluate. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019d asked me a couple of weeks ago, I\u2019d have said no chance. But come the end of the season, should the 49ers be involved, of course I\u2019d like to see him involved. If it\u2019s in the region of \u00a36m, I\u2019m sure they\u2019ll go for that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

49ers eager to put their mark on Rangers<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n

While a takeover may not yet have been officially sealed, it is looking increasingly likely that it will go through over the coming months.<\/p>\n

On the basis of what we have seen on the field this season, with the gap on Celtic in the Scottish Premiership getting more embarrassing by the week, vast changes are required.<\/p>\n

Rangers may have badly struggled this term, but some individuals have performed better than others.<\/p>\n

Cerny\u2019s 19 goals involvements in the top two competitions Rangers are competing in is a decent return, even if he has had plenty of off-days, most recently in the loss to Motherwell.<\/p>\n

A fee of \u00a36m seems about fair, and it would be a good piece of business if Rangers can come to an agreement.<\/p>\n

Plenty of new faces will be required in the summer, but tying down Cerny would at least give the new owners one less problem to deal with.<\/p>\n
