Former 49ers All-Pro predicted to jump to AFC West in free agency<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cHufanga landed with the Denver Broncos in predictions from USA TODAY\u2019s Tyler Dragon.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not a huge surprise that Hufanga would wind up somewhere other than San Francisco given how their last couple of offseasons have gone. In 2023 they moved up in the third round to select Penn State safety Ji\u2019Ayir Brown. Last year they picked another safety, Malik Mustapha, in Round 4.<\/p>\n

That appeared to pave the way for Hufanga\u2019s exit when his rookie contract ran out at the end of the 2024 campaign. The 2022 All-Pro will likely get priced out of what the 49ers are wanting to spend at safety, particularly with two cost-controlled draft picks on the defensive depth chart.<\/p>\n

Seeing him go to a team that needs help in the back end of its secondary wouldn\u2019t be a major surprise. However, the door opened a little bit for Hufanga\u2019s return to San Francisco.\u201d<\/p>\n

Banks was the second offensive lineman taken in the mock draft, following LSU\u2019s Will Campbell, who went to the New England Patriots at No. 4. The trade also marked the third of the first round, suggesting there could be significant movement on the first day of the draft.<\/p>\n

Williams will be 37 at the start of the 2025 season, making it crucial for the 49ers to secure his eventual replacement. At 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds, Banks has drawn frequent projections to San Francisco due to his similar frame and potential talent.<\/p>\n
