should a deal be struck.<\/p>\n<p>Ibrox sources insist there are still plenty of hurdles to overcome as high-level discussions continue.<\/p>\n<div data-widget-article-count=\"2\" data-widget-title=\"Read More Football Stories\">\n<h2 data-original-text=\"Read More Football Stories\">Read More Football Stories<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<p>But there is hope that an agreement can be reached with the US investors to kick off a new era at Gers.<\/p>\n<p>The consortium see huge potential in the Ibrox club, with possible access to the Champions League a reward for domestic success.<\/p>\n<p>They also view Scottish <span id=\"2f9a43f7-b127-4d6e-9e9a-978be7a75542\">football<\/span> as a prime environment to bring in young talent and adopt a successful player-trading <span id=\"4c5183f8-04e2-4f62-a828-6a8306bc0560\">model<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Marathe heads up the 49ers Enterprises arm &#8211; which seeks to \u2018oversee outside business ventures, advisory efforts, and major investment opportunities for the club\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He is also Executive VP of Football Operations for the NFL giants.<\/p>\n<p>Marathe orchestrated the 49ers\u2019 takeover of <span id=\"dbdb5b3a-f38d-499c-816a-2fcd13a50503\">Leeds<\/span> in 2023 after years of investment and is <span id=\"9c87ab43-1d7b-4c5a-b95b-2c238a0eaae2\">driving<\/span> their bid for Premier League promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Under existing SFA dual ownership rules, this is set to limit the 49ers\u2019 ability to snap up a Gers shareholding of over 29.9 per cent.<\/p>\n<div id=\"bc-video-6364540079112\">\n<p>Deebo Samuel facing major San Francisco 49ers punishment after taking a swing at his own teammates in shocking scenes<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>However, there are other US investors keen to plunge <span id=\"4a85926a-c24b-459a-b734-1ed3e3dad311\">money<\/span> into Gers as part of a wider consortium.<\/p>\n<p>These figures believe Marathe\u2019s experience of British football can be of huge significance as part of a potential deal to revive <span id=\"7f15093c-015d-4984-8d70-4e42eea3ec2b\">Rangers<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>And the 49ers &#8211;
