With Spring Training underway in North Port, the Braves aren\u2019t done adding to the roster, signing an intriguing bullpen arm. Buck Farmer has agreed to a minor-league pact with Atlanta, Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.<\/p>\n

This is a homecoming for the Georgia Tech product. Farmer was born in Conyers and was actually selected by the Braves in the 46th round of the 2009 draft but elected to join the Yellow Jackets instead. He was then drafted years later by the Tigers in the fifth round.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s coming off the best season in his decade-plus-long career. Farmer posted a 3.04 ERA over 71 innings for the Reds, but his 9.7% walk rate is concerning, considering his league-average 23.4% strikeout rate.<\/p>\n

Since making his big league debut in 2018, Farmer has posted a 4.03 ERA, 23.5% strikeout rate, and 9.8% walk rate across 386 2\/3 Major League innings with Detroit and Cincinnati. However, a horrid 2021 campaign skewed those numbers.<\/p>\n

The Braves have invited a slew of veteran relievers as non-roster invitees. Hopefully, another move is coming down the pike: a proven arm to bolster Atlanta\u2019s bullpen.<\/p>\n
