Drake Maye and his girlfriend, Ann Michael Hudson, have seen the thick and thin of his football career together. On Wednesday, Oct. 30, they celebrated nine years together.<\/p>\n

The New England Patriots QB suffered a terrible injury last week but would find solace in this beautiful message shared by his girlfriend.<\/p>\n

Drake Maye and Ann Hudson Celebrate 9 Years of Togetherness<\/h2>\n

Maye and Hudson both attended North Carolina University together, as did her brother Tadd Hudson, who played with Maye. It is at North Carolina where their relationship blossomed, but the seeds had been planted much earlier, as the couple started dating in middle school.<\/p>\n

In celebration of their ninth anniversary together, Hudson took to her Instagram to upload three pictures of them over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201c9 years with you and it keeps getting better every day. I couldn\u2019t imagine my life without you as my best friend. I love you more than you know!\u201d she captioned her post.<\/p>\n

Hudson shared her excitement earlier when the Patriots named the No. 3 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft the starter.<\/p>\n

Patriots Head Coach Jerod Mayo Opens Up Maye\u2019s Injury<\/h2>\n

Maye made the first start of his career against the formidable\u00a0Houston Texans\u00a0in Week 6. Despite the loss, he was named the starter for the next two games as well.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, last week against the\u00a0New York Jets, Maye had to leave after a hard tackle in the first quarter due to the\u00a0NFL\u2019s\u00a0concussion protocol.<\/p>\n

Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo on Monday expressed his displeasure at this call.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not (know). I was surprised when (Jim) Whalen told me he needed to go the medical tent,\u201d Mayo said. \u201cHe threw a couple of good balls afterward. I thought he was still pretty sharp in those regards. Obviously, it\u2019s above my pay grade as far as pulling him out of the game and putting him in the protocol.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear whether Maye will remain in the concussion protocol or will be allowed to participate in the Week 9 fixture. The Patriots will travel to face the\u00a0Tennessee Titans\u00a0on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
