The Kansas City Chiefs are three wins away from what would be an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat. The first hurdle that’s in front of them comes in the form of the Houston Texans, who they will face in the Divisional Round of the AFC. Per ESPN, the Chiefs are the heavy favorites to emerge as the winners of this highly anticipated clash. You can be sure, however, that the Texans are going to do everything in their power to upset the odds.<\/p>\n
Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce is not taking anything lightly. He knows how dangerous the Texans can be, and he’s made his opinion of their opponents perfectly clear. “The Texans, you want to talk about playing fast, that D-line, that defense, it’s a real deal right there,” he said on Wednesday’s episode of his “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason Kelce.<\/p>\n
“They showed it this past weekend against the Chargers and what they can do. They can create turnovers. They’re a tough team. I’m excited for the challenge.”<\/p>\n
Kelce clearly isn’t intimidated by Houston’s defensive prowess, which they exhibited in their dominant 32-12 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round. In fact, the Chiefs star insinuated that he is excited to test his skills against the Texans’ D-line. What is clear, however, is that Kelce has a lot of respect for what their opponents bring to the table, and he is not taking anything for granted.<\/p>\n
“This team plays very, very well together,” Kelce said. “It’s gonna take all 11 (players) on the field.” Kelce and the Chiefs will host the Texans at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, with kickoff time set at 4:30 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
