We’re officially less than a month away from Orioles’ pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training!<\/p>\n
In an MLB release on Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that the Orioles will start reporting to Sarasota on February 12, with their first workout scheduled for February 13.<\/p>\n
Pitchers and catchers arrive first, as always, and will be followed by the rest of the squad with the first full-team workout on February 18.<\/p>\n
The O’s will be one of the last teams to start training. They’re one of just 9 teams with a first full-squad workout on the 18th. The rest of the league will start earlier.<\/p>\n
The Cubs will lead off, with their first pitchers and catchers workout scheduled for February 9, and their first full-team workout scheduled for February 14.<\/p>\n
The fact that we’re so close to spring training is really a breath of fresh air. The Orioles are seemingly unfinished with their roster construction ahead of 2025, if Mike Elias’ recent comments are to be believed.<\/p>\n
However, with spring training now so close, the front office is running out of time to make meaningful moves ahead of next year.<\/p>\n
MLB announces spring training reporting dates for Orioles, rest of league<\/strong><\/p>\n In addition to the spring training updates, we’ve also seen the release of information about the 2025 Birdland Caravan.<\/p>\n Fans will have the chance to interact with a number of players who weren’t part of the festivities last year, as Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson, and Jackson Holliday are all scheduled to make appearances.<\/p>\n For now, the Orioles are scheduled to make appearances in Baltimore, Columbia, Ellicott City, Severn, Bel Air, and Halethorpe, with three additional locations to be announced later.<\/p>\n The events will run between Thursday, January 30 and Saturday, February 1.<\/p>\n At present, there’s a pop-up photo event scheduled for January 30. The location will be announced the day before the event, but will reportedly take place in Frederick County. A second pop-up photo event will take place the following day in Harford County.<\/p>\n There is currently a scheduled happy hour event at Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Halethorpe, with a number of Orioles players scheduled to make appearances.<\/p>\n Limited advance tickets are available for $5, but will surely sell out before the event. There will be an additional happy hour event at PBR Baltimore, with limited tickets available at $10.
