{"id":22998,"date":"2025-01-02T10:44:11","date_gmt":"2025-01-02T10:44:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportnews.azontree.com\/?p=22998"},"modified":"2025-01-02T10:44:11","modified_gmt":"2025-01-02T10:44:11","slug":"watch-billy-corgan-sing-take-me-out-to-the-ballgame-for-40000-fans-in-an-icy-stadium-in-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportnews.azontree.com\/?p=22998","title":{"rendered":"Watch Billy Corgan sing Take Me Out To The Ballgame for 40,000 fans in an icy stadium in Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Smashing Pumpkins and Billy Corgan were among the performers bringing festive cheer to the crowd at this year&#8217;s Winter Classic, the annual NHL game that takes hockey into outdoor stadiums on New Year&#8217;s Eve.<\/p>\n<p>At this year&#8217;s event, held in front of 40,000 fans at Wrigley Field in Chicago \u2013 home of baseball&#8217;s Chicago Cubs \u2013 the St. Loius Blues defeated local favourites the Chicago Blackhawks 6-2, with St. Louis defenceman Can Fowler scoring twice.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the entertainment was provided by Chance The Rapper, who performed during the first intermission, and Smashing Pumpkins, who played <em>Today <\/em>and <em>Sighommi<\/em> before a televised <em>Tonight, Tonight<\/em> during the player introductions.
