The\u00a0NFL\u00a0at large now believes that\u00a0Green Bay Packers\u00a0pass-rusher\u00a0Micah Parsons\u00a0will miss multiple games, including as much as one month of the season, which makes the team\u2019s situation at edge-rusher even more dire.<\/p>\n

Parsons\u2019 return timeline has been a moving target and something of a debate, with the general belief remaining that his torn ACL in Week 15 will ultimately cost him some time, though hope existed the freak athlete and his maniacal approach to rehabilitation could get back into the starting lineup by Week 1.<\/p>\n

However, ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday, May 14 that the physically unable to perform [PUP] list, is likely in Parsons\u2019 future.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019ll be a candidate to be placed on the physically unable to perform list. I\u2019ve heard three to four games potentially missed,\u201d\u00a0Schefter said. \u201cThere\u2019s time for him to recover, time for him to get back. But it certainly feels like the tone has been \u2014 and the expectation has been \u2014 that Parsons will miss some time to start the season.\u201d<\/p>\n

A PUP designation would mean the first-team All-Pro misses at least four contests.<\/p>\n

Even before that update from Schefter, multiple analysts were pushing\u00a0Joey Bosa\u00a0as an option to fill what has grown into perhaps the single greatest need on the Green Bay roster heading into the summer.<\/p>\n

Packers Pass-Rush \u2018Thin\u2019 Beyond Micah Parsons<\/h2>\n

Mina Kimes and Bill Barnwell of ESPN suggested Bosa as a fit for the Packers last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if there\u2019s a more load-bearing player in the NFL right now than Micah Parsons,\u201d\u00a0Kimes said. \u201cThis is a thin group.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are a lot of edge guys left,\u201d Barnwell added. \u201cThere is Joey Bosa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spotrac projects Bosa, who will play next season at 31, to ink a two-year contract worth\u00a0$27.5 million\u00a0on the strength of 16 quarterback hits, nine tackles for loss, five sacks and\u00a0five forced fumbles\u00a0in 15 games played for the\u00a0Buffalo Bills\u00a0in 2025.<\/p>\n

Jacob Infante of Windy City Gridiron also mentioned Bosa last week, noting the shortcomings of\u00a0Lukas Van Ness\u00a0as the team\u2019s top edge-rusher with Parsons out and after trading\u00a0Rashan Gary\u00a0to the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0for a fourth-round pick earlier this offseason.<\/p>\n

\u201cGary is no longer on the Green Bay Packers. This absence propels 2023 first-round pick Lukas Van Ness into their starting lineup,\u201d\u00a0Infante wrote. \u201c[Van Ness has] also only combined for 8.5 sacks in his three seasons with the Packers. They drafted\u00a0Dani Dennis-Sutton\u00a0in Round 4, but he\u2019s a raw technician who should be strictly in backup territory as a rookie.\u201d<\/p>\n
