In the American League right now, it’s a bit of a rough patch, with only three teams boasting winning records. Unfortunately, the Texas Rangers aren’t on that list.<\/p>\n
But don’t count them out just yet. Confidence can turn a season around, and for the Rangers, a recent series against the New York Yankees may have been just what the doctor ordered.<\/p>\n
Enter Nathan Eovaldi, who has been nothing short of sensational in the past week. Facing off against the Yankees both in Texas and the Bronx, Eovaldi delivered near-perfect performances that reminded everyone of his 2025 form. Back then, he was a Cy Young contender with a stellar 1.73 ERA over 22 starts before an injury cut his season short.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t the smoothest start to the season for Eovaldi, who allowed 16 hits and 11 earned runs in his first couple of outings. But now, he’s showing exactly why Texas needs him at his best. If Eovaldi can keep delivering these kinds of performances, the Rangers’ path to success becomes a whole lot clearer.<\/p>\n
With the Rangers now set to take on the formidable Chicago Cubs, Eovaldi won’t be pitching, having just started on Wednesday. But his recent dominance could be the spark Texas needs. Returning home after their road trip, the Rangers are hoping to build on this momentum.<\/p>\n
Sitting at 17-20, the Rangers are just 1.5 games out of first place in the AL West. A single strong series could catapult them right into the thick of the race.
