The\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0were always going to prioritize defense in both free agency and the draft as they look to improve that side of the ball from being the 30th ranked unit in the NFL in 2025.<\/p>\n

Additions came pouring in with the likes of veterans\u00a0Rashan Gary\u00a0and\u00a0Jalen Thompson, along with first rounders, edge rusher\u00a0Malachi Lawrence\u00a0and safety\u00a0Caleb Downs. And even so it would appear that the cornerback room is still potentially in need of new additions.<\/p>\n

As a result, the Dallas has bought in former first round cornerback and 10th year pro\u00a0Adoree\u2019 Jackson for a free agent visit on Tuesday May 5, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.<\/p>\n

\u201cSources: The\u00a0#Cowboys\u00a0are hosting veteran CB Adoree\u2019 Jackson on a free agent visit today.\u201d Schultz\u00a0reported\u00a0on X. \u201cJackson was with the\u00a0Eagles\u00a0last year, where he started 10 games \u2014 recording 55 tackles, 11 PBUs, and 1 INT. His DBs coach there was Christian Parker, who is now the Cowboys\u2019 DC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adoree\u2019 Jackson remains available after the expiry of his one year, $5 million deal signed with the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles\u00a0last offseason.<\/p>\n

Adoree\u2019 Jackson Had a Difficult Season in 2025<\/h2>\n

Jackson signed with the Eagles to compete with\u00a0Kelee Ringo\u00a0for the CB2 spot opposite All-Pros\u00a0Quinyon Mitchell\u00a0and slot\u00a0Cooper DeJean.<\/p>\n

Jackson ended up winning the role after a close training camp battle with Ringo, and subsequently struggled for much of the early parts of the season. Despite improving as the year went on, the former 18th overall pick was still ranked as one of the worst perimeter corners in football last season, according to Pro Football Focus\u2019 Nic Bodiford.<\/p>\n

\u201cJackson served as a defensive weak point for Philadelphia\u2019s vaunted defense. His 53.6 PFF defense grade ranked 67th among 71 NFL cornerbacks with at least 600 defensive snaps and 10th among 11 Eagles defenders with at least 600 defensive snaps.\u201d Bodiford\u00a0wrote\u00a0back on February 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cOpposing quarterbacks aggressively threw passes into Jackson\u2019s primary coverage. Despite benefiting from 14 off-target incompletions and\/or drops, he forced incompletions neither efficiently nor voluminously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Could Adoree\u2019 Jackson Improve the Cowboys\u2019 Secondary?<\/h2>\n

Despite having a tough year, and having been broadly susceptible to injury over the course of his now almost decade-long career, Jackson still started 10 games in the National Football League less than a year ago.<\/p>\n
