When it rains, it pours for the San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n

This has been a season to forget.<\/p>\n

Injuries, bad luck, and miscues on both sides of the football have plagued their otherwise promising season.<\/p>\n

Things may have reached a new low on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Linebacker De\u2019Vondre Campbell refused to enter the game, and his days with the organization seem numbered.<\/p>\n

According to a report by Jay Glazer (via Ari Meirov), Niners GM John Lynch is working with the league to get a \u201cmax suspension\u201d for Campbell.<\/p>\n

He doesn\u2019t want to release him and have him join another team to reward his actions.<\/p>\n

As drastic as this might seem, the team has every right to do so.<\/p>\n

This would finally be a precedent to stop players from taking this approach.<\/p>\n

We often see players forcing their way off teams by refusing to show up.<\/p>\n

They end up either getting traded or joining another team.<\/p>\n

NFL players put their bodies through a lot, and they earn every single penny they make.<\/p>\n

However, that\u2019s only true as long as they play.<\/p>\n

If Campbell wasn\u2019t hurt, there was no reason for him not to take the field.<\/p>\n

This has been the reflection of a Niners team that has usually caved into every single one of their player\u2019s demands.<\/p>\n

Lynch will have to draw a line in the sand and clearly communicate to his players that they will not tolerate any more antics.<\/p>\n
