Juan Soto is officially a member of the New York Mets.<\/p>\n

Soto, who agreed to the largest contract in baseball history with the club this week, was officially introduced at Citi Field on Thursday. Mets owner Steve Cohen, general manager David Stearns and agent Scott Boras were all on hand, with big ole smiles on their faces, but the 26-year-old lost his when one group was brought up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t talked to any of those guys,\u201d Soto said, per SNY. \u201c(I) talked to them throughout the playoffs, but after that, I haven\u2019t talked to any of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Soto\u2019s shocking reveal didn\u2019t draw any gasps, but it certainly sent an air of shock around the room. New York\u2019s famously rigid media corps didn\u2019t ask for any follow-ups but later got some answers in his post-conference scrum.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to say thank you,\u201d Soto said when asked about his message to fans on the other side of New York. \u201cThey really showed me all the love and everything that they have. They have a spot in my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re still friends, we\u2019re still cool,\u201d Soto said of former teammate Aaron Judge. \u201cIt\u2019s just business. The relationship that we created last year will stay forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Yankees likely aren\u2019t thrilled any time they\u2019re reminded of losing the generational talent, but hearing all of this might actually be worse. It\u2019s a tough time to be in The Bronx.<\/p>\n
