The Buffalo Bills are heading into one of their most critical seasons yet, having made a significant move by firing head coach Sean McDermott after nine seasons, following their inability to reach the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
Buffalo promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach, and now it\u2019s time for him to lead the team and take them to heights they\u2019ve never reached before with Josh Allen at the helm.<\/p>\n
Bills Could Look to Cut Josh Palmer This Offseason<\/strong><\/p>\n The Bills made a significant move this offseason by trading for wide receiver DJ Moore to support Allen and help Buffalo reach the Super Bowl. With Moore joining the team, there\u2019s a chance the Bills may be considering parting ways with another wide receiver. According to Bleacher Report\u2019s Kristopher Knox, Josh Palmer could be a potential cut option.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile Palmer still has two years remaining on his contract, Buffalo could conceivably get out of it by releasing him after June 1,\u201d Knox wrote on Sunday. \u201cCutting him before then would cost $2.5 million in additional cap space, while cutting him after June 1 would save $2.3 million in cap room.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Bills have $13.2 million in effective cap space and don\u2019t necessarily need the additional cap savings. However, they simply might not have a role for Palmer in the offense after adding D.J. Moore via a trade. Khalil Shakir was Buffalo\u2019s leading receiver last season, and the Bills may still be looking to salvage Keon Coleman. Tyrell Shavers and Mecole Hardman are also in the receiver mix. There\u2019s also a non-zero chance that Buffalo continues bolstering its receiving corps in the draft. If Palmer is jettisoned from Buffalo, he can help another receiver-needy team. The 26-year-old is a big (6\u20191\u2033, 210 lbs) target who had three 500-yard seasons as a complementary receiver with the Los Angeles Chargers.\u201d<\/p>\n Palmer Didn\u2019t Have a Good First Season With Buffalo<\/strong><\/p>\n The Bills signed Palmer to a $29 million contract last offseason, and he didn\u2019t do a lot in his first year in Buffalo.<\/p>\n Palmer only appeared in 12 games, recording 303 yards and no touchdowns. He missed the Bills\u2019 two playoff games this past season after Buffalo placed him on injured reserve the day before its wild-card matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.<\/p>\n If the Bills are considering parting ways with Palmer, they will probably have to release him, as it\u2019s unlikely any team will make a deal for him after the season he just had.<\/p>\n There\u2019s a good chance the Bills are biding their time to see what happens in the draft regarding wide receiver options. If they decide to make a significant move for a top-tier wide receiver, they may part ways with Palmer afterward.<\/p>\n The Bills certainly need all the veteran players they can muster, and keeping Palmer for another season might be beneficial. If he stays healthy, he could play a key role in helping Buffalo reach its goals.<\/p>\n It will be interesting to see how the Bills handle Palmer this offseason.
