Feedback from a vocal segment of Swifties came amid news that Shakira\u2019s upcoming world tour has already managed to smash one of\u00a0Swift\u2019s Eras Tour records: Shakira, 47, became the first female artist to sell out five consecutive stadium shows at Estadio GNP Seguros in\u00a0Mexico\u00a0City, per\u00a0Marca.<\/p>\n
Swift, 34, previously held the record with four consecutive sold-out shows at the stadium, which was previously known as Foro Sol, on her most recent tour.<\/p>\n
An unaffiliated Swift fan account on X\/Twitter\u00a0generated a number of reactions after posting purported merchandise and set\/flooring plans from Shakira\u2019s team that mirrored Swift\u2019s marketing.<\/p>\n
\u2018The inspiration is so obviously taken from the eras tour but if this goes viral they will be doing mental gymnastics to act like it isn\u2019t,\u2019 said one user.<\/p>\n

One fan reacted to a clip in the thread purportedly showing video of Shakira\u2019s rehearsals for the tour, alleging that Shakira and her team were also copying Swift\u2019s choreography with their forthcoming stage show.<\/p>\n
\u2018She also has a a jump into the water lol,\u2019 the fan said. \u2018I think she and her team studied the eras tour to make something like the eras tour.\u2019<\/p>\n
Swift would be heavily scrutinized if she was on the other end of the discussion, multiple fans said.<\/p>\n
\u2018If t**lor copied someone this obviously #they\u2019d never stop talking about,\u2019 one user said, while another added, \u2018imagine if taylor had copied another artist there would have been murder.\u2019<\/p>\n
Some Swift fans were more sympathetic to the South American songstress, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Estadio GNP Seguros\u2019 website, the venue \u2013 which is the second-largest stadium in Mexico City \u2013 has a capacity of 65,000 people for concert events.<\/p>\n
Shakira said she has delayed dates on the North American leg of her tour in order to move shows from arenas to larger stadiums.<\/p>\n
\u2018The demand for tickets and more shows has reached the point that our tour now requires stadiums in the USA and more dates so I can see as many of you as possible,\u2019 Shakira said on her Instagram Stories on Friday, according to\u00a0Billboard. \u2018As a result, we\u2019re elevating my North America run from arenas to stadiums and the dates will be shifted to May 2025, right after my Latin American tour.\u2019<\/p>\n
The move initially disappointed some fans who didn\u2019t want to wait to see the Whenever, Wherever artist, but now many more fans will have a chance to catch her concerts.<\/p>\n
Her good fortune contrasts with other established artists \u2013 including Jennifer Lopez and The Black Keys \u2013 who have\u00a0been forced to cancel\u00a0or downgrade their tours after they failed to attract the same level of fan interest as in previous years<\/p>\n
Last week, the Latin American star unveiled the music video for her single\u00a0Soltera, and the clip has already earned an eye-popping 26 million views as of Monday.<\/p>\n

The album also topped out at an impressive number 13 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and it has been certified 7x Platinum for over 420,000 album-equivalent units by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).<\/p>\n
Shakira\u2019s world tour will kick off in 2025 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on February 11, followed by stops in Peru, her home country of Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Mexico.<\/p>\n
