MLB Insider Says Jurickson Profar Appeal Could Complicate Braves\u2019 $15M Plans<\/h2>\n

The Atlanta Braves<\/span><\/span><\/strong> are facing an unexpected financial and roster dilemma following the suspension of veteran outfielder Jurickson Profar<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Profar has been hit with a 162-game suspension for performance-enhancing drug use<\/strong>, meaning he is currently set to miss the entire 2026 MLB season.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would seem to me the Braves are going to be potentially reluctant to move until they have greater clarity on whether they will be paying Jurickson Profar this year,\u201d Rosenthal explained.<\/p>\n

That hesitation makes sense from a financial standpoint.<\/p>\n

If Atlanta commits money to another player and later discovers it must still pay Profar\u2019s contract, the team\u2019s payroll flexibility could suddenly shrink.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Rosenthal noted that standing still may not be an option.<\/p>\n

The Braves must still field a competitive roster.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have to put a better team on the field than they currently have,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Braves Manager Reacts to the News<\/h2>\n

The suspension has also created emotional reactions inside the Braves clubhouse.<\/p>\n

Team manager Brian Snitker<\/span><\/span><\/strong> acknowledged that the organization was stunned by the news.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody saw that coming,\u201d Snitker said when discussing the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously very disappointed and stunned when we got the news.\u201d<\/p>\n
