Taylor Swift\u2019s\u00a0boyfriend, NFL-star tight end Travis Kelce, is positioned to be the quarterback\u2019s best asset, not competition.<\/p>\n

But that all changed over the weekend, when Buffalo Bills quarterback\u00a0Josh Allen announced his engagement\u00a0to pop star and actress Hailee Steinfeld, making them football\u2019s newest dynamic duo.<\/p>\n

Kelce innocuously congratulated the couple in the comments section of their joint Instagram post which provoked users to speculate when he\u2019d be dropping to a knee for Swift.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour move bro,\u201d one user wrote. \u201cYou next,\u201d several people commented. \u201cOk, will you be next? the world is looking forward to it\u2026\u201d a person asked. \u201cThe couple in this picture is the Temu version of you and your future wife @taylorswift,\u201d another joked.<\/p>\n\"Taylor<\/picture>Although it\u2019s unclear when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce officially started dating, the pop star has said by the time she was photographed at one of his football games in September 2023, they were already a couple.\u00a0(Timothy A. Others marveled at the insanity of the comments section, including one fervent defender who wrote, \u201cHe should be able to congratulate his friend without people acting crazy,\u201d and later, \u201cVery weird and invasive, stop bothering him he just congratulated his friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

A representative for Kelce did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Swift, who is pals with Steinfeld, also liked the post.<\/p>\n

Swift took her relationship with Kelce public in September 2023, after the\u00a0\u201cBad Blood\u201d\u00a0singer attended one of his games at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. \u201cBy the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,\u201d she told TIME of their relationship timeline. \u201cI think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift was shown over a dozen times on camera during that game, and has continued to be shown frequently at all subsequent events she\u2019s attended.<\/p>\n

Since the couple began dating, there have been rumors the relationship is manufactured for publicity purposes. Although Mark Donovan, president of the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs,\u00a0refuted that narrative in late November.<\/p>\n
