Baseball season is finally on the horizon, and fans of the Boston Red Sox<\/strong> are buzzing with excitement as the Spring Training equipment truck<\/strong> makes its way to Florida<\/strong>. On February 2<\/strong>, the truck carrying most of the team’s gear departed from Fenway Park<\/strong> just after noon, making its way to Polar Park<\/strong> in Worcester. The truck\u2019s journey marks the first sign of spring<\/strong> for Red Sox<\/strong> fans, a beloved tradition that fans eagerly await every year.<\/p>\n

After leaving Worcester at approximately 1:30 p.m.<\/strong>, the truck, which is adorned with a JetBlue plane<\/strong> and the Red Sox logo<\/strong>, set off on a nearly 1,435-mile journey<\/strong> to JetBlue Park<\/strong> in Fort Myers, Florida<\/strong>, the Red Sox’s Spring Training home<\/strong>. Packed to the brim with the necessary tools of the trade<\/strong>, the 53-foot truck<\/strong> that left Fenway Park<\/strong> carries an impressive amount of gear. This year\u2019s shipment includes 20,400 baseballs<\/strong>, 1,100 bats<\/strong>, 200 pairs of batting gloves<\/strong>, 320 batting practice tops<\/strong>, 160 white game jerseys<\/strong>, and 300 pairs of pants<\/strong>. That\u2019s just the beginning. The truck also holds 400 shirts<\/strong>, 400 pairs of socks<\/strong>, 20 cases of bubblegum<\/strong>, and 60 cases of sunflower seeds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As the truck makes its way to Florida<\/strong>, fans know that Spring Training<\/strong> is getting closer, with Red Sox pitchers and catchers<\/strong> scheduled to conduct their first workout on February 10<\/strong>.
