San Francisco 49ers’ Trent Williams’ wife is opening up about a difficult loss.<\/p>\n

Sondra Williams, the wife of the NFL pro offensive tackle, shared on Instagram on Sunday, Dec. 1 that their son Trenton O’Brien Williams Jr. was stillborn on Sunday, Nov. 24. Sharing a Reel on her Instagram of her baby’s heartbeat and sonogram images, as well as clips and photos of Sondra pregnant, Sondra took a moment to honor her son in a lengthy caption, calling him her “forever angel.”<\/p>\n

“\ud83d\udc94It\u2019s been extremely hard trying to process the saddest Hello and Goodbye that I\u2019ve ever had to endure,” she wrote. “Last Sunday night on 11\/24\/24; I welcomed your lifeless 4lb 8oz 18.5 in long little body at 11:38pm. At only 35 weeks, your impactful and quick arrival didn\u2019t even give mommy time to get an epidural. I\u2019m so grateful to have had your Aunt Katina(who also cut your cord) and nurse Hannah by my side. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffe.”<\/p>\n

She went on to share that Trenton’s twin was lost earlier in the pregnancy and had learned that Trenton was diagnosed with trisomy 13, a rare genetic condition that results when an extra copy of chromosome 13 attaches to a pair of chromosomes and can be life-threatening, according to The Cleveland Clinic.<\/p>\n

“\ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffeAs much as I tried to prepare myself for our meeting, I wasn\u2019t prepared nor would I ever be. After losing your twin early in the pregnancy, I prayed and hoped that your diagnosis of Trisomy 13 wasn\u2019t true and wouldn\u2019t be the fate of my long awaited beautiful Son-shine.\u2600\ufe0f,” Sondra said.<\/p>\n

“My firstborn and only son, I\u2019ve always wanted you, but God wanted and needed you more. Knowing you are in Heaven with your Great-Aunt Vivian and that you will Always be our Guardian Angel \ud83d\udc7c\ud83c\udffd brings me great comfort in the midst of all this sorrow.”<\/p>\n

“My heart is heavy. Being home without you in my arms has been quite an adjustment. Knowing I will never be able to watch you grow older alongside your sisters has my eyes filled with tears.\ud83d\ude2d,” she said.<\/p>\n

Sondra continued to write that her heart is broken and she struggles to find the words to describe what it feels like to be home without her son, but is comforted by the thought that Trenton is watching over her.<\/p>\n

“\ud83d\udc7c\ud83c\udffdThank God for allowing us to bond for 35 weeks and for me to birth you so I could hold you in my arms. I\u2019m at peace knowing you will never have to suffer,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Although I will never hear your soft coos and cries or see those beautiful little eyes staring up at me, I am grateful to God for the time I shared with you. \ud83d\udc97\ud83d\udc99Madison loved listening to your heartbeat and watching your waves of movement in my tummy.
