On Thursday, the Ravens hired Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as the next head coach of the franchise. With Minter being the new head coach of this football team, many are wondering what the future of quarterback\u00a0Lamar Jackson\u00a0is going to be with the Ravens.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jackson this past season completed 63.6% of his passes for 2,549 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 349 yards on 67 carries and two touchdowns, along with averaging 5.2 yards per carry. Jackson is 29 years old and has a very hefty contract. The Ravens should keep him around, but there are people who might potentially think otherwise.<\/p>\n

NFL Analyst Ryan Clark was on First Take on Friday morning talking about Minter being hired as the next head coach of the Ravens. Clark was wondering what the hire of Minter means for Lamar moving forward with the franchise. He said, \u201cLamar Jackson ain\u2019t going nowhere. \u2026 The most important hire to me is \u2026 it\u2019s head coach, then offensive coordinator. [What OC] is going to lead Lamar Jackson?\u201d<\/p>\n

There are some Ravens fans who do not want to see Minter bring Greg Roman as his offensive coordinator to this team. It would be wild if that was the case. One of the reasons why Minter took this job was because of Jackson being the quarterback. Another thing that he will be able to do is fix Baltimore\u2019s defense. The Ravens did not have a good defense last season. It should be better next season. When Minter became the Chargers defensive coordinator two years ago, he fixed the defense overnight.<\/p>\n
