The Houston Astros are finally showing their hand. After weeks of mixed signals and front-office tightrope walking, the team is now \u201cactively listening\u201d to trade offers for infielder Isaac Paredes, according to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal. While the Astros had hoped to move Christian Walker this offseason, it\u2019s become increasingly clear that Paredes – younger, more controllable, and coming off an All-Star campaign – is the more valuable trade chip.<\/p>\n

Paredes is under team control through 2027, and that kind of long-term value doesn\u2019t come around often, especially for a player who just made his first All-Star team. He\u2019s projected to earn around $9 million in arbitration, and the fact that he and the Astros haven\u2019t yet agreed to terms might be more than just a paperwork delay – it could be a sign that both sides know a change of scenery is on the horizon.<\/p>\n
