Mahomes is now done for the rest of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee late in Sunday\u2019s loss.<\/p>\n

Similar to Mahomes, Brady also suffered a season-ending ACL tear during his career.<\/p>\n

The 15-time Pro Bowl quarterback took the opportunity to send a message for Mahomes.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only thing you can do is focus on what\u2019s ahead of you and not look back,\u201d Brady told host Jim Gray, via NBC\u2019s Pro Football Talk. \u201cAnd just say, \u2018OK, this is part of what my career is going to be.\u2019<\/p>\n
And a lot of people have gone through it and a lot of people have overcome it. You\u2019ve just got to put as much diligence into the rehab process.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I always feel like the faster you rehab, the faster you can get back to practicing the sport that you know you love. I think sometimes people will pace themselves. Instead of training mode, they\u2019re in rehab mode. I think you gotta get through rehab mode as fast as possible and then you get back to training mode.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut that requires an all-out commitment and it\u2019s the same commitment that the great professional athletes make to be great at their profession. When you go through the rehab process, you need that same level of focus and determination.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n That\u2019s exactly what Brady went through when he rehabbed his ACL tear. He went on to win four more Super Bowls after that career-threatening injury. Brady, however, also hit Mahomes with a harsh reality check on what he\u2019s about to face.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a tough rehab,\u201d Brady said. \u201cIt\u2019s one of the toughest rehabs. I just remember every day pushing myself. And it\u2019s always the same amount of pain and discomfort except you\u2019re making progress through that pain and discomfort, which is a hard psychological thing to battle.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cYou feel like, God, every day, it doesn\u2019t feel right. Except you\u2019re gaining range of motion and you\u2019re gaining strength and you are on the road to recovery.
