The Minnesota Twins spent last summer trading away nearly every living relief pitcher in the organization.<\/p>\n

Fans watched as the front office moved five arms at the deadline, several of them with multiple years of team control, and then acted surprised when the bullpen depth chart looked like a garage sale table the next morning.<\/p>\n

Now, after\u00a0Joey Gallo\u00a0posted a short social media video of himself throwing a few pitches, the Twins front office has decided that this is exactly the kind of forward thinking they need.<\/p>\n

Gallo\u2019s three pitch cameo on social media sounded impressive. You could not see where the ball went but it made a loud noise, which is half of pitching anyway.<\/p>\n

The Twins immediately logged it as a scouting report.<\/p>\n

Front office officials reportedly gathered around Derek Falvey\u2019s phone like teenagers watching a viral highlight, nodding solemnly as if they had discovered a new setup man. With the bullpen thinned from last year\u2019s sell off, they are willing to consider anything.<\/p>\n

That willingness has opened the door to a new era of creativity.<\/p>\n

If Gallo can reinvent himself on the mound, the Twins wonder who else might be hiding untapped bullpen potential. The team will soon introduce the Community Tryout Initiative at Target Field.<\/p>\n
