The 29-year-old third baseman\u2019s biggest strength is his power hitting, which would make Fenway Park very attractive. However, Okamoto projects to be a first baseman instead of a third baseman due to his limited defensive range. First base would represent an easier position for Okamoto.<\/p>\n
Okamoto might not have the highest ceiling for MLB, but he would provide a steady floor for Boston. Plus, if the Red Sox were able to complete a deal for the Japanese third baseman, it would allow the team to pursue more batters. Okamoto would be a solid fit, and Boston should look into the possibility.<\/p>\n
