The Kansas City Chiefs have had Travis Kelce make a name for himself for over a decade as one of the best tight ends ever to grace a football field.<\/p>\n

But at 36 years old, Kelce is coming to the end of his illustrious career, and surely the Chiefs are keeping an eye out for potential successors, despite having Noah Gray on the roster.<\/p>\n

And as it turns out, the Chiefs might not have to look too far in the AFC for one promising tight end, who feels like he is about to take the league by storm.<\/p>\n

For CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan, he’s named the Chiefs as a potential landing spot for Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt remains to be seen if Travis Kelce will play beyond this current 2025 season,” Sullivan writes. “The future Hall of Fame tight end mulled retirement last offseason before ultimately deciding to return to action. If he decides this time around to hang it up, Likely would be a great successor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Could Chiefs move for Likely?<\/h2>\n

Given Mark Andrews’ three-year contract extension, it does feel like Likely could be on the outer in Baltimore, and with the fourth-year tight end on the final year of his rookie deal, the Chiefs could come knocking.<\/p>\n

As Sullivan also points out, though, the Chiefs have a lot of work to do to be cap compliant in 2026, but Likely as Patrick Mahomes’ newest tight end is a tantalizing prospect.<\/p>\n

With his yards after catch ability, seeing Likely weaving down the field for big gains, having him in a Chiefs uniform in 2026 could be just the pick-me-up for Kansas City’s offense.<\/p>\n

Of course, Likely could still stay with the Ravens, but after Andrews’ re-signing, it appears Isaiah might have his head turned by the AFC champs.<\/p>\n
