Finding a franchise quarterback is incredibly difficult. Just ask the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets.<\/p>\n

Finding an all-time quarterback is even harder. Many franchises have never done it, but it now looks like the New England Patriots have found two in the span of 25 years.<\/p>\n

At least that\u2019s what Colin Cowherd thinks.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday,\u00a0Cowherd sung Drake Maye\u2019s praises\u00a0following the Patriots\u2019\u00a033-15 rout\u00a0of the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. While he said he thinks Jaxson Dart could be \u201ca fine franchise quarterback\u201d with \u201ca fine career,\u201d he believes Maye has much greater potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cDrake Maye, it\u2019s a different discussion. He looks like he\u2019s gonna be one of these guys about every four years that enters the league and is an all-timer,\u201d Cowherd said. \u201cSize, arm, IQ. I mean Drake Maye, he just doesn\u2019t miss.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cowherd continued to praise his\u00a0development and polish\u00a0for a young quarterback.<\/p>\n

\u201cStoic, not a lot of bad throws, not getting hit,\u201d Cowherd added. \u201cYou get a franchise quarterback every year. You get an all-timer about every four or five years. I think we found one. He is on pace to be the greatest quarterback on first down in the history of the game for a single season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maye\u2019s 131.6 passer rating on first down this year is the highest in NFL history, surpassing Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees.<\/p>\n

In just his second season, Maye has already\u00a0emerged as an elite quarterback. New England is in good hands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
