Patrick Mahomes\u00a0and the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0suffered a crucial setback in their\u00a0NFL\u00a0playoff bid after losing to the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0in their Thanksgiving showdown on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Chiefs bowed to the Cowboys, 31-28, despite\u00a0Mahomes throwing four touchdowns and making history.\u00a0Dak Prescott\u00a0threw only two touchdowns while running back Malik Davis added a rushing score, but Kansas City couldn\u2019t overcome multiple holds and pass interference calls.<\/p>\n
As a result, the\u00a0Chiefs dropped to 6-6\u00a0on the season, placing them at No. 9 in the AFC, on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. Making matters worse, the teams above Kansas City in the standings, specifically the\u00a0Los Angeles Chargers,\u00a0Jacksonville Jaguars\u00a0and\u00a0Buffalo Bills, all have a tiebreaker advantage.<\/p>\n
Despite the loss, however, it didn\u2019t stop Mahomes and his family from having an incredible Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n
\u201cGetting to spend Thanksgiving with all our family in TX this year is so special,\u201d Mahomes\u2019 wife, Brittany Mahomes, wrote on her Instagram stories, along with a photo of several plates organized on a table for the festivity.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s worth noting that Mahomes\u2019 family \u2014 his wife and their three kids, Sterling Skye, Bronze and Golden Raye \u2014\u00a0joined the Chiefs signal-caller in his trip to Texas, not only to watch the game but also to celebrate the holiday.<\/p>\n
Mahomes is from Tyler, Texas, and played for Texas Tech in college. The same goes for his wife, who is from Whitehouse, Texas, and attended the University of Texas at Tyler.<\/p>\n
While they would have loved to celebrate a win in Texas, getting to spend time with their family at home clearly still made the trip memorable.<\/p>\n
