Benintendi came off a season in 2024 which saw him hit .229 with 20 homeruns and a .289 OBP. This led fans to wonder if he would be on the move in the offseason, as he was one of the highest paid players on a team that was coming off one of the worst seasons in major league history.<\/p>\n
The White Sox ended up holding on to Benintendi for the 2025 season, and he made a solid impact for the team. In 116 games for the White Sox, Benintendi hit .240 with a .307 OBP, adding 20 homeruns and 63 RBIs. This was good for a 1 WAR according to Baseball Reference.<\/p>\n

This was by far Benintendi\u2019s best season with the White Sox, as he put up -.8 WAR last season and .4 WAR with the White Sox in 2023.<\/p>\n
Baseball Savant\u2019s advanced statistics showed that Benintendi had a solid year at the plate for the White Sox, as they graded him out as an above average hitter overall, with very good grades in squared up percentage and his strikeout percentage.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, Baseball Savant graded out Benintendi with -8 outs above average, which put him in the 4th percentile in that category, while they ranked him in the 5th percentile in arm value. This is a bit surprising, as it felt like Benintendi was making more plays in the outfield this past season.<\/p>\n
All things considered, Benintendi had a very solid season for the White Sox. However, Benintendi holds the burden of the most expensive contract ever given out by the White Sox organization, which naturally comes with plenty of criticism.<\/p>\n
I would grade Benintendi\u2019s 2025 season as a B, as he had his best season in a White Sox uniform. He added 20 homeruns in just 116 games, putting him on pace for 25+ over a full season. While he didn\u2019t grade out as well in the field as he had in the past, he still made an impact in plenty of games.<\/p>\n
I could see the White Sox trading Benintendi during the offseason, as he could fill a valuable role for a contending team looking for an outfielder. If they decide to keep him, he will continue to be a mentor for the young players on the team and add 20-25 homeruns.
