Travis Kelce keeps stacking records.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 13-year Kansas City Chiefs tight end added another highlight to his Hall of Fame career, catching his 80th career regular-season touchdown pass in Monday night’s 28-7 win over the Washington Commanders, becoming just the fifth TE in NFL history to hit the figure.<\/p>\n

The score was Kelce’s 83 total in the regular season, which tied him with Priest Holmes for the most in franchise history.<\/p>\n

“He’s the true Chiefs Chief,” Patrick Mahomes said after the win, via the team’s official transcript. “He is the guy that has been here through the whole thing. Been here with (Head) Coach (Andy) Reid the entire time. He has helped set the culture, you know? He helped set the culture of what it means to play for Coach Reid and to play in Kansas City and I was able to come in and then have that guy to rely on. He’s breaking all the records now and he’s all about the team, so I want to make sure that he gets that and hopefully we can get another football for him later in the season after he actually breaks the record (most in Chiefs history).”<\/p>\n

Including playoffs, the score was Kelce’s 100th career touchdown catch.<\/p>\n

Mahomes and Kelce became the 10th passer-receiver duo with 75 TDs, according to NFL Research.<\/p>\n

“I just cherish these moments, man, being able to play at Arrowhead,” Kelce said. “This place is special, man, and I love it here. In terms of the historical stuff, I’m still looking at the next game and the next catch and trying to get better.”<\/p>\n

Kelce put up a season-high 99 receiving yards on six catches Monday night, finding himself uncovered at times. The touchdown, however, was vintage, with the TE finding a space in the zone and clinging to the pigskin while being hit at the goal line.<\/p>\n

“I’m just the old, lucky dog still able to do this thing, man,” Kelce said. “I’m putting on the pads like I’m 15 years old again. I’m loving every single bit of it.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
