The Los Angeles Dodgers are now down 1-0 to the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series. In Game 1, they simply got hit right in the mouth. It\u2019s possible that a small distraction is also affecting the team, as Alex Vesia is suddenly away from the club.<\/p>\n

Even though Vesia is away, there\u2019s still a chance the reliever could rejoin the roster.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne potential option for the Dodgers could be to put Alex Vesia on the Family Medical Emergency List. That comes with a minimum duration of three days, but would allow them to put him back on the roster later in the series if he’s able to return by then (and replace him with someone else in the meantime),\u201d Dodgers beat writer Jack Harris wrote.<\/p>\n

When the World Series roster was announced, the Dodgers made it clear that Vesia would not be pitching.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlex Vesia is off the World Series roster and not on a bereavement list that would allow him to return between three and seven days, by the way. The Dodgers will try to secure another championship without one of their most trusted relievers,\u201d ESPN\u2019s Alden Gonzalez wrote.<\/p>\n

This is obviously a huge loss for the Dodgers, but there are some things far more important than baseball. A few guys will have to step up \u2014 it\u2019s now or never.<\/p>\n

Vesia will now turn his focus to his off-the-field matter while his teammates handle business on the diamond. After Game 1, this series is shaping up to be an exciting one.<\/p>\n
