The Dallas Cowboys suffered their third loss of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday, falling to the Carolina Panthers by a 30-27 final score.<\/p>\n

With this Week 6 loss, the Cowboys are now 2-3-1 to start the year, making their road to the playoffs a little more difficult.<\/p>\n

Team owner Jerry Jones almost always takes the mic for his postgame press conference – but not on Sunday. The longtime Cowboys general manager\/owner declined to speak with media following the Cowboys\u2019 third loss of the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cJerry Jones is not talking today after the game,\u201d team insider Clarence Hill Jr. reported.<\/p>\n

Many fans took this decision as a sign that there could be some significant coaching changes on the horizon for Dallas.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully he’s busy shopping for a new defensive coordinator\u2026..\u201d one fan wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomebody [expletive] getting fired!\u201d former Cowboys wide receiver\u00a0Dez Bryant added.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone is getting fired, Jerry loves to talk,\u201d another\u00a0fan said.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cPlease let this happen. Fire the coordinator,\u201d another\u00a0added.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Cowboys ranked as one of the worst defenses in the league heading into Sunday\u2019s Week 6 matchup, and that trend continued throughout the game.<\/p>\n

Panthers quarterback Bryce Young threw for 199 yards and three touchdowns, accounting for close to half of the Panthers\u2019 410 total yards. Former Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle shredded the Cowboys\u2019 defense for 239 scrimmage yards and a receiving touchdown.<\/p>\n

Dallas\u2019 defense now ranks dead-last in yards per game allowed (411.7) and 30th in points per game allowed (30.7). Despite the team\u2019s brutal Week 6 defensive performance, head coach Brian Schottenheimer still voiced confidence in defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus.<\/p>\n

“Matt’s a great coach. Everywhere he’s ever been he’s had good defenses. It’s not just Matt by himself. Matt’s trying. The players are trying. This is not a lack of effort,\u201d Schottenheimer said in his postgame press conference, via team insider Jon Machota of The Athletic.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys will look to get their season back on track in a matchup against the Washington Commanders in Week 7.<\/p>\n
