(AP Photo\/Nell Redmond)AP<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p id=\"IY2E4HW6IBAM3POENCMX2Z4N4Y\">Bill Belichick\u2019s time in the NFL spanned nearly five decades, but his tenure as the UNC Tar Heels coach might last just one season.<\/p>\n<p id=\"DC5RTCCR7RDLTKDE55KFTA4BUE\">\u201cPotential exit strategy\u201d discussions regarding Belichick\u2019s future have started after, according to 247 Sports\u2019 Andrew Jones.<\/p>\n<p id=\"X7PRKL7CO5BS3HLP5KGCWFT6Y4\">The talks don\u2019t necessarily mean Belichick will be fired, but according to Jones, \u201cpreliminary discussions\u201d about possibly moving on from the 73-year-old are not out of realm of possibility.<\/p>\n<p id=\"QD3LG22NCFEHHDIUE4AF6EJHOE\">UNC is 2-3 on the season and all three losses have come by way of a blowout. The Tar Heels were outscored,120-33, against opponents in the losses.<\/p>\n<p id=\"UJLBAFBEOBEZ7CZHDJNITDDIYA\">Pro Football Talk\u2019s Mike Florio noted the discussions appear to stem from \u201cpotential rule violations\u201d after reports surfaced that \u201can assistant coach was suspended for providing extra benefits\u201d to the families of players, while players were selling the complimentary tickets they receive.<\/p>\n<p id=\"GNK3YKQDNNGUZL2RJRWGHAPCYE\">\u201cThere are many other violations that have occurred, many on the recruiting front,\u201d Jones reported.<\/p>\n<p id=\"BT2QHNKZ35ANZM2V6OTX2YYWWA\">Belichick signed a five-year, $50 million contract with UNC in December. but UNC, according to Jones, could use the above violations as a potential way to get out from under Belichick\u2019s contract.<\/p>\n<p id=\"2UCF4QU55FAZPB6W3UMC4MSWBY\">After the success Belichick had in the NFL that included eight Super Bowl titles \u2014 six with the New England Patriots \u2014 there was optimism he\u2019d bring some of his winning ways to Chapel Hill.<\/p>\n<p id=\"JE7X4CIREJGLPE5CGU6EEXGSIE\">It hasn\u2019t gone that way through UNC\u2019s first five games, and a report surfaced that indicated the locker room is divided and the program is an \u201cunstructured mess.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"ZCSUEHGFQZB6NC23FJACUOACG4\">ESPN\u2019s Paul Finebaum called Belichick the \u201cabsolute laughingstock\u201d of college football after UNC\u2019s latest loss.<\/p>\n<p id=\"LDJYUBKKBNA7PP24KGVS3VTTAA\">Aside from the product on the field, Belichick\u2019s pettiness behind-the-scenes has been brought to light. The 73-year-old banned Patriots scouts from UNC practices because, in Belichick\u2019s words, it\u2019s clear he\u2019s not welcome at New England\u2019s facilities.<\/p>\n<p id=\"Z2UWK2VDS5BALMVMN2RS5GBLAE\">It was also reported that Belichick directed the school to not post anything Patriots-related to their social media accounts.
