The Dallas Cowboys are 2-2-1 after a dominant Week 5 win over the New York Jets, and ahead of Sunday\u2019s showdown against the Carolina Panthers, they received some encouraging news on star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.<\/p>\n

Lamb has missed the last two games after suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter against the Chicago Bears. Dallas chose not to place him on injured reserve, which would have sidelined him for a minimum of four weeks.<\/p>\n

While his status for this week\u2019s game remains uncertain, Lamb was spotted on the rehab field during Wednesday\u2019s practice alongside fellow Cowboys teammate Tyler Booker \u2014 a promising sign that a return is near. Although a Week 6 comeback against the Panthers is possible, Week 7\u2019s divisional matchup against the Washington Commanders seems more likely if his recovery continues on schedule.<\/p>\n

Lamb is the most important offensive piece for the Cowboys, but even with him sidelined the past two weeks against the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets, the team has still managed to put up 40 and 37 points, respectively.<\/p>\n

That said, in the two games Lamb did play to start the season, he totaled nine receptions for 112 yards against the New York Giants and seven receptions for 110 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles, with Dallas going 1-1 in those matchups.<\/p>\n

Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones made it known on Tuesday that Lamb’s return is nearing and could come across the next two weeks.<\/p>\n

However, head coach Brian Schottenheimer was noncommittal on any return timeline for Lamb, but did say that he continuing to get healthier and if Lamb and Booker can’t return this week, reinforcements could steal be on the way with Tyler Guyton and Tyler Smith who both returned to the practice field Wednesday.<\/p>\n
