What’s been a serious problem?

Tosafish: The good: offensive production except for that egg laying in Cleveland. The bad: sideline operation and clock management. If he’s ever going to grow into a complete head coach LaFleur has to quit trying to be the smartest kid in the room and figure out how to be the most prepared.

Ron: Offense and Defense both have been good, for the most part. The serious problems are the Special Teams and lack of discipline/focus when getting so many pre-snap penalties. They keep killing drives. The Packers have supposedly been focusing on ST for the last three years, but I would say its’s still no better than it was. Is Bisaccia as good as they say? Not seeing it.

TOM SILVERSTEIN: Time for Jeff Hafley to explore more ways for Micah Parsons to lift Packers defense

Robert: Good: Receivers. Serious problem: O line and cornerback

Dave: Serious problem? Matt LaFleur’s coaching.

Chance: Coaching and play calling

Mike: Jordan Love is having an outstanding year. His stats put him in the top-three in the NFL of every major benchmark. Special teams have literally lost two games.

Steve: Their first-round draft pick looks fast, assignment sure, and has good hands. Special teams are a serious problem, not only because it has been a disaster so far this year but because it has been terrible for years and the Packers don’t seem to have any idea how to address it.

Ralph: The pass rush has been good. The offensive run blocking is a serious problem.

Tampa Super G: Receivers’ more reliable hands have been a highlight of the new season. BUT Matt LaFleur has become a concern. Doesn’t appear Super Bowl-timbre. More like, TIMBERRRRR!!! Think of it, through his tenure the team has been plagued with either a wretched defense, an erratic offense, or farcical special teams. Just through the first 4 games, the Packers have experienced at one point or another this trifecta!

Gerry Miller: Linebackers and Josh Jacobs have been good. Offensive line and special teams have been way below standards as has been the case for years. Coaching has been timid, indecisive and not teaching discipline.

Janis Lunde: Good that’s hard to choose but I’d say Jordan’s performance with a makeshift line that’s not protected him. Bad decision making and time management by coaches.

Michal Sligh: The defense had very encouraging performances in the first three games. Poor coaching and game management from LaFleur has been problematic in three of last five games, and cost Packers wins against Bears, Browns and Cowboys.

Ron Alexander: Lack of consistency.

Christopher Olley: Serious problem – o line health/skill and special teams. Overall concerns with lack of maturity. Good roster talent.

Kevin Murphy: Lack of sustainable offensive rhythm, caused, in my opinion, by the four or five jet sweeps or gadget plays that Coack LaFleur seems to call every game. They are rarely successful, expose our two rookie wide receivers to big hits, and disrupt the natural flow of a pass/run offense.

Tim: Bad – O-line has underperformed (Jenkins move to center bad; Morgan poor play and can’t remember snap count).. The good – I think the players are young and have the talent especially with older leaders to be very good. I think that they will figure it out and be dominant in 2nd half of season.

Mike: Punts have been really good, and none blocked. Lack of offensive line depth and tackling inability of (Carrington Valentine).

Dan: Special teams.

Nick: Defense has been good (excluding Cowboys game). Special teams have been a big problem.

Benjamin Kusilek: The pass rush has been solid with the addition of Parsons. The special teams continue to be a weak spot a have cost the team two victories so far this year (and had a hand in last year’s last two losses as well!)

Marsha: They have a lot of talent and potential. Unfortunately, they are inconsistent as all get out and the special teams are far from special.

Mike Ryan: Inability to dominate weaker opponents.

Jay Stemper: Defense great, for offense, is there enough time to get the backup men better?

Rick Rowe: Offensive line. Football is still won or lost in the trenches. Look at Philly. And if you can pressure with four on defense you don’t need All Pro corners.

Steven Foss: Nothing really good and bad coaching, Matt seems to hire bad coaches.

Kevin: The good, getting a blue-chip player like Parsons. The problem, Same issues this season we have seen in the previous seasons. Nothing is getting fixed.

Chuck Melis: Special teams suck again.

Don Easterling: Love good, special teams bad for many years.

Cole Northup: The good: the receivers are holding onto the ball. The bad: poor decisions by Coach LaFleur at the end of halves and overtime..

Stephen: Good: Steady quarterback play from Jordan Love Serious problem: Jekyll & Hyde defense and special teams gaffes.

Roland Krepline: Coaching getting everyone on the same page. LaFleur is way too soft.

Mike Casey: New plays on offense and bad is defensive backfield lack of getting in front of receivers.

Dave: Game management

RM: Offensive and defensive line

Tom Delacenserie: Receivers aren’t dropping balls like they did last year, which is an improvement. Special team blocking and tackling are inexcusable.

Ron: Bad coaching

Bill: Daniel Whelan has been excellent. Special teams have been abysmal. Have they fired Bisaccia yet?

Steve Zibell: Matt LaFleur

Allen Wilson: Throwing to different receivers. And the special teams have been not good.

Ted: Too early and unfortunately very needed with the injuries already present.

Keith: Beat Lions. Penalties.

Scott Smith: Special teams

Jim: The passing game has been good. Several receivers are having productive seasons to this point. Field goal and extra points have to get better if they are going to get where they want to go.

Corey Wilson: The defense will be fine. In this era, you just are going to have games where teams score points. The most concerning problem is the head coach’s inability to manage the end of games.

Keith: One thing that’s been good: Our receiver corp. Serious problem? Two big ones: Special teams and game management.

David Hansen: Play of Romeo Doubs. Cornerback play, special teams, number of penalties. All awful.

Pat: Matt LaFleur’s coaching

Fred Poss: LaFleur has flopped at calling good plays in crunch situations.

Gregg: Two things stand out: the inability to correct the special teams problems, including blocked kicks two weeks in a row that have cost them two wins, and the sudden defensive collapse against Dallas. They are not looking like a team that’s ready to compete for a Super Bowl, and that’s a reflection on the coaching.

Ralph Johnson: Can not think of one, Matt LaFleur.

Jim: Love’s passing game has improved. Special teams… ouch!

Corey: Consistency

Eric: First two games a total team effort. Bad coaching second two games.

Brian: Good: Defensive, statistically with expected improvement continuing. Bad: O line, non-special teams.

Charles: Playing with game winning intensity when they have the lead. Not time for a cold beverage yet, it’s only the third quarter.

Tom Lindl: Good, High level: Defense coach. Bad: Head coach. He’s not good enough to win big, too slow at getting good enough to correct the big problems that never go away: penalties, special teams, and changes during the game that get the win when under pressure from the other team.

Terry: Good, Quay Walker. Guy has been all over the field running down plays. Bad, take your pick. Offensive line, running game or special teams!

James Henkel: Receiving corp… good. Special teams… bad.

Tom: Special teams coach must be fired!

Scott: Micah parsons, rest of edge rushers not stepping up.

Christopher: It’s good that it’s early. It’s bad that the team isn’t learning how to win as an “elite” team. That’s’ coaching.

Bill: Coaching

This article originally appeared on Packers News: What’s good, bad about the Packers heading into bye?
