New York might be peaking at the perfect time. After reaching the World Series in 2024, Aaron Boone’s club is highly motivated to get back to the fall classic and end up with a different result this time.
Perhaps most importantly, New York is healthy with the postseason close at hand. Aaron Judge has seemingly recovered from his flexor strain, which is the most crucial development in that regard.
It’s been an up-and-down season for the Yankees, but they still actually have a chance to win the American League East with six games left to play. Entering Tuesday, New York was just two games back of the Toronto Blue Jays in the division.
Boone caught up with reporters ahead of Tuesday’s game, and he agreed with a media member’s suggestion that the Yankees are playing their best baseball right now.

“Yeah, I mean, look, you know, you guys have heard me all throughout the year, even some of the low moments, feeling like we could get to this point,” Boone said, per SNY.
“I feel like we are playing our best. We’ve got a great opportunity here in front of us”

“And you know, I do feel like we are playing our best. We’re at our best. We’re fairly healthy. So we’ve got a great opportunity … in front of us. So that being said, you know, what we’ve done over the last four to six weeks to put ourselves in a better position … (that’s) over, too.

“We’ve got to continue to move forward and really just try and keep our focus small,” Boone continued, per SNY. “And that’s on today’s game, and preparing for today’s game and whatever happens, moving on from that and getting ready for the next one. … I feel like we’ve done a good job of that, and we need to continue that.”
