Yankees’ Ben Rice should not be underestimated

New York Yankees’ infielder/designated hitter Ben Rice has been a force to be reckoned with in 2025, with 24 home runs and 61 runs batted in as the 2025 regular season quickly comes to a close.

He’s also come up big in the clutch for Aaron Boone’s team, as shown in yesterday’s extra-innings win over the Baltimore Orioles, which saw Rice swat a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the 10th inning, which resulted in a 7-1 Yanks victory.

And after seeing what the infielder is capable of throughout the year and seeing him come through for the team when necessary, team manager Boone has no doubts that he is watching another New York star rising to the top.

Boone Praised Rice’s Offensive Production

In a talk with Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, the Yankee skipper and former playoff hero had nothing but positives to say about the 26-year-old.

“I think we’re seeing the emergence of a true middle-of-the-order bat with power,” Boone said to Hoch. “He’s proving himself as a really formidable hitter in this league.”

To hear that from Boone, who knows a thing or two about clutch hitting, especially in the postseason, has to strike a chord inside Rice, and surely boost his confidence as the Yankees continue to hunt for a playoff berth.
