“You could tell that somebody just shoved him in there and left quickly.”
When Angela Adan pulled into a parking lot, the first thing she saw was an abandoned crate, and her heart immediately dropped.

A little Frenchie was sitting in the crate, waiting all alone for someone to notice him. He had a wound on his back, and as Adan looked around, it became clear that no one was coming back for this guy.
“You could tell that somebody just shoved him in there and left quickly,” Adan said in a video for The Dodo.

Luckily, Adan is an avid dog rescuer, and she knew exactly what to do. She grabbed a leash and let the pup, later named Goober, out of the crate. He slipped into the leash and didn’t hesitate at all when his rescuer scooped him up. He knew that she was there to help.
Adan took Goober straight to the vet, who determined the wound on his back was a hotspot that had gotten out of control. Unfortunately, whoever abandoned the pup stayed just out of view of the cameras in the parking lot. Ultimately, though, it didn’t matter, because Goober was safe now.
“I brought him home, and his healing process began,” Adan said. “It took months, but finally he started to heal.”
As Goober healed and his hair grew back, his heart opened more and more, too. Adan was shocked that anyone could have abandoned such a perfect little dog. All he wanted was to be loved, and his wish finally came true.

“He got adopted into a really loving family, and he can go to the vet anytime he needs to,” Adan said. “He’s on a special diet now. He’s living a happy, loving life now for the rest of his life.”
