🚨RED SOX LINEUP SHOCK: Boston’s lineup for the middle game of the series is out, and fans are stunned—once again, Wilyer Abreu won’t be suiting up, leaving questions about how the team will compensate for the absence of their Gold Glove star in a crucial matchup.

TAMPA – Wilyer Abreu is here with the Red Sox at George Steinbrenner Field, but not in the lineup as the team’s weekend series with the Tampa Bay Rays continues.

Abreu, who’s missed almost a month with a calf strain, worked out at Fenway Park Friday with the idea of flying here to rejoin the club. But the Sox have Nate Eaton in right field. It’s unknown whether Abreu is going to be activated and available off the bench on Saturday night.

Otherwise, the Red Sox lineup is identical to the one used Friday night in the series opener when the Red Sox had a bit of an offensive explosion and posted an 11-7 victory.

The Red Sox will be getting a look at lefty Kyle Harrison in his first start for the team and just his second appearance. He’s had a long layoff after appearing out of the bullpen in Sacramento, some 10 days ago.
