Packers WR Emerging Again as Potential Trade Candidate

The Green Bay Packers made arguably their biggest trade in franchise history just ahead of the 2025 NFL season, acquiring superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys.

While that trade shook up the entire landscape of the NFL, the Packers may not be done. It’s possible that they could look to pull off an interesting in-season trade before the trade deadline arrives.

Throughout the course of the offseason, wide receiver Romeo Doubs had popped up in the rumor mill on multiple occasions. Once again, he’s emerging as a potential trade candidate.

Doubs is playing in the final year of his career and it seems unlikely that Green Bay will give him an extension. After extending Christian Watson by one season, Doubs could very well be on his way out of town in free agency. If that is the team’s stance, why not trade him and get some kind of value for him?

Packers WR Emerging Again as Potential Trade Candidate

ESPN’s Dan Graziano took a look at five potential trade candidates to watch before the deadline. Doubs was on his list as a possible player to be moved.

“Doubs is a name that came up in trade discussions during the offseason and certainly could again once the Packers are whole and teams come looking for help at the position,” Graziano wrote. “Green Bay could stand to recoup some draft capital after the Micah Parsons trade, and Doubs is making a very reasonable $3.406 million on the final year of his contract. He has clipped 600 receiving yards in each of his past two seasons, and he has 96 yards and a touchdown through two games in 2025.”

At times throughout his young career, Doubs has looked the part of a potential No. 1 wide receiver. Those flashes have not turned into consistency, but any team needing a wide receiver would likely have interest in taking a chance on him.

In 45 career games over three years and two games, Doubs has caught 152 passes for 1,796 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Doubs could end up staying with the Packers. They might decide to give Jordan Love as much firepower as possible this season in an attempt to pursue a Super Bowl run.

However, if Green Bay does decide to place him on the trade block, he could very well end up being a very popular trade candidate ahead of the deadline.
