The Chicago Cubs got the best of Pittsburgh Pirates star pitcher Paul Skenes on Tuesday night, and their fans made sure to let Livvy Dunne hear about it on social media.
Skenes allowed seven hits and three earned runs over 3 2/3 innings in the Cubs’ 4-1 loss to the Pirates on Tuesday night at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pa. One of those hits was a leadoff home run to Chicago first baseman Michael Busch.
Dunne shared a video on TikTok this week that showed Skenes helping her do her hair. She captioned the clip, “Get yourself a man that does your hair.”
Cubs fans capitalized on the opportunity to troll Dunne and Skenes over the right-hander taking the loss against their team.

Dunne responded to one fan who told her to ask her boyfriend about the homer he gave up to Busch.
“You should ask him since you have enough balls to comment that on my acc (sic),” Dunne wrote.

Busch is one of the few players who has had some success off of Skenes in his career, particularly this season. Busch has four hits and a walk in eight plate appearances against Skenes in 2025.
There were some rumors that circulated on social media about Dunne and Busch sending messages to one another, which is another reason Cubs fans gave the former LSU gymnast a hard time. Those rumors, which are completely unfounded, appeared to stem from a parody account that posed as TMZ.
That is not the first time Dunne has defended Skenes against trolls, and it probably will not be the last.
