The Philadelphia Phillies (91-62) endured their eighth shutout loss of the year in their final regular season matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers (85-67), a season series which they took 4-2.
Blake Snell dominated, allowing only a pair of singles in the third and a pair of walks in the seventh, none of which came home to score.

Jesus Luzardo recovered well enough from some bumps and bruises in the second and fourth innings to make it into the eighth, but was pulled after a leadoff homer by Shohei Ohtani. Orion Kerkering allowed another run after a walk, single and sacrifice fly to finish the scoring.

With winsby the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs, the Phillies are now 2.5 games back from the Brewers for the overall #1 seed in the National League and 2.5 games ahead of the Cubs for the second bye.
The Phillies will enjoy a rare day off tomorrow as they head into Phoenix for a weekend series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Walker Buehler is slated to square up against Ryne Nelson on Friday night.
