The Green Bay Packers’ second game of the 2025 season went much like the first: jump out to a comfortable, two-possession lead behind an explosive offense and a smothering defense, then go hunt the quarterback in the second half. In those two games, the Packers have not only showed off a ridiculous new-look pass rush, but they have also been dominant against the run as well.
Then there’s the offense, which has gone hunting for big plays and found plenty of them. Jordan Love, in particular, has been the biggest big-play hunter among NFL quarterbacks this season.

However, the one time through two games that an opponent closed down to within seven points in the second half, the Packers answered with a dominant, creative drive to score a touchdown and get their lead back to 14. That came early in the fourth quarter last Thursday, and it was a drive that did not feature many deep balls; instead, Matt LaFleur got creative, dialing up some chain-movers early and some fun wrinkles for the run game later on.
Each time the Packers have been challenged so far this season, they have responded. They will need to continue to do so moving forward, particularly when they cannot jump out to a big lead, but so far it has been a joy to watch this team dismantle high-quality teams in back-to-back weeks.
