The Kansas City Chiefs remain the only undefeated team in football, sitting at 9-0, and the scary thing is Andy Reid’s team is about to get even stronger. With running back Isiah Pacheco and receiver Juju Smith-Schuster on the sidelines, the pair is edging closer to a return to action. The Chiefs travel to take on the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in an AFC heavyweight showdown in Week 11, but will Pacheco and Smith-Schuster suit up for the defending champs?
Reid offered an update on his injured pair. “Both those guys, I thought, did a nice job with this week,” Reid said. “They were working on scout team and moved around well. So they’ll be listed as out, and then JuJu’s [Smith-Schuster] had a good week, as our other guys have in preparation against a good football team.” So it appears that Pacheco and Smith-Schuster are getting very close to returning to the football field.
With Kareem Hunt doing a superb job filling in for Pacheco at running back and DeAndre Hopkins now getting acclimated to Reid’s offense to the point where he’s having a big say in games, the Chiefs offense has been doing just enough to get the job done. But now we add in Pacheco to form a one-two punch with Hunt and Smith-Schuster to an offense that has Travis Kelce, Xavier Worthy, Hopkins, Justin Watson, and Noah Gray, and suddenly Patrick Mahomes’ weapons have gotten far stronger. However it looks like Pacheco and Smith-Schuster are still at least one week away from returning to the field, and when they do, the Chiefs, who continue to roll on, will get that much more stronger.
