Father who gave ball to Phillies ‘Karen’ has message for her harassers

Woman confronts fellow Phillies fan about Harrison Bader's home run ball

The father of the young Philadelphia Phillies fan who had his home run ball swiped by a crazed woman wants the outrage dial back down.

The woman, whom fans have referred to as “Phillies Karen,” confronted Drew Feltwell after the latter secured a Harrison Bader home run ball during a Phillies game against the Miami Marlins. The woman took the ball back from Feltwell, who had triumphantly given the ball to his son.

The entire interaction happened in the left-field stands at loanDepot in Miami, Fla. The woman proceeded to flip off the crowd for booing her actions.

The internet was outraged over the incident. Feltwell told USA Today’s Josh Peter that “scores of people” have assured him that they would get the ball back from the woman. But all Feltwell wants is for everyone to let the issue fade.

“Please don’t do anything to that lady,’’ Feltwell said. “Leave it alone. You know, somebody knows her and can talk to her, that’s different. But God, I don’t want people breaking in their house and stuff like that. The internet already messed her up pretty good.’’

In a previous interview, Feltwell explained why he decided to cough the ball up instead of standing his ground. He said that his intention was to set a good example for his son by de-escalating a contentious situation.

Feltwell earned a few more “Father of the Year” points just by asking for forgiveness on behalf of “Phillies Karen,” who has received a pretty lucrative offer to give the ball back and apologize.
